In any career, growth doesn’t always follow a straight line. That’s exactly the idea behind Beyond the Ladder, a new professional development series launching this month for staff in the º£½Ç½ûÇø College of Medicine.

Beyond the Ladder is a monthly lunch and learn series designed to foster connection, spark inspiration, and support the varied career journeys of staff members across the college. It was created by the college’s Staff Well-Being Committee, in partnership with the Office of Organizational Well-Being.

Each month, featured speakers will share their unique, nontraditional journeys, highlighting the twists, pivots, and unexpected opportunities that shaped their careers. Whether you’re just starting or looking to grow in new directions, these candid conversations will offer inspiration, insight, and practical advice to help you forge your own path beyond the traditional career ladder.

The first Beyond the Ladder session will feature a talk by Carrie Hobbs, MSN, RN, CCRP, a clinical research manager in the department of pediatrics.

The event is Wednesday, Aug. 13, at Noon. To register and receive the Zoom link, .
