2022 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF)
The Department of Pharmacology and Nutritional Sciences at the 海角禁区 Offers a research-training program to undergraduates after their sophomore year. This program is specifically for students who are interested in a career in basic research and related health care disciplines.
Students will:
Gain research experience in
鈥euroscience and Cardiovascular Research
鈥utritional and Metabolic Disorders
鈥etwork with local scientists and professionals in Pharmacological Sciences
鈥ttend Workshops in Careers and Professional Development Skills
鈥resent original research
Participants are expected to dedicate ~ 40 hours/week to the program.
Approximately 80% of their time will be spent working on independent research projects
and 20% of their time will be spent on career development sessions and activities.

Program Dates: May 23 - July 29, 2022
Stipend of $2800
(5 positions are available).

Criteria for selection: academic standing, minimum GPA of 3.0 required,
Commitment and interest in research careers.
Prior research experience which includes course- based laboratories is preferred.
鈥Students are responsible for finding local housing for the 10-week duration of the SURF program.
A limited number of housing scholarships are available. 鈥
